Red Dragon, Lotto TV Commercial

The Red Dragon TV commercial was for the American Lotto, as part of a project I did at UTS. The only material I was given was the video (without and audio), and the voice overs (i.e. “Now it begins”). All of the sound effects and music were added from scratch, mixed and mastered into the video. You can see the end result below:

‘As We Know It’, 5.1 surround sound radio theatre

As an example of surround sound mastering the following is a radio theatre pilot I created back in 2006, utilising full 5.1 surround sound. It follows the story of a blind woman (Jess) as she tries to navigate through the social turmoil and unrest that has resulted from some horrible news. Earth’s nearest star, Proxima Centauri, has destroyed itself and become a black hole, threatening the stability of the solar system. Knowing that the end of life on Earth ‘As We Know It’ draws ever closer, Jess relies on her heightened sense of sound to get her where she needs to be, in time.

If you are lucky enough to have a surround sound card and speakers connected to the computer you can take full advantage of the 5.1 channel Windows Media Audio format the episode is presented in. The Connection, Original Musical Score:

The Connection is a feature film I am currently working on, and as part of the pre-production process I have already begun composing the music for some of the film’s scenes. Below the poster you will find 2 tracks from the film’s soundtrack. ‘End Titles’ – Which will be playing during the closing credits of the film and features some of the soundtrack’s main thematic phrases, and ‘Personal Effects’ – which features in a scene towards the beginning of the film where the main character is searching through a recently passed relative’s personal items in their study.

Calling the Storm – Orchestral Score

I entered this piece into the National Songwriter’s Association Songwriting Competition. The piece titled ‘Calling the Storm’ won 1st prize in the Instrumental Category.
