Masque of the Red Death

A Short Film

As part of my graduate project at the University of Technology, Sydney in 2006 I directed a short film based around Edgar Allan Poe’s short story ‘The Masque of the Red Death’. My roles in this production were Director and Sound Designer. You can view the short film below.

 
The Role Reversal

TV Commercial for Parkinson’s NSW

One of the institutions I have worked with closely over the past 5 years is Parkinson’s NSW. As well as filming and producing various videos for their events, I have produced 5 television commercials for them. The latest, titled ‘The Role Reversal’ (featured below) was part of their new 2011 awareness and call to action campaign. Concept and script by Blue Desk.

 
The Engagement

Film Trailer / Fun

My Fiancé (Mel) and I decided to do something a bit different and unique for the invitations to our Engagement Party. Borrowing on my passion for film making (second only to the passion we share for each other) we gathered our Bridal Party and spent a few days filming this special movie trailer for the make-believe film ‘The Engagement’. My roles in this production were Director, Camera Operator, Editor, special Effects and Sound Design.

 
The Connection

Feature Length Film

Currently in the pre-production stage. But what’s unique about this project us the approach I am taking. I am pretty much doing the production in a unique order: starting with the script of course, but also the poster and musical score first, and then proceeding to film. I am finding the process of writing the score and having it available (coupled with the poster) when writing the script a very thought provoking way to conjuring the right imagery in my head. I will keep the film’s production blog up to date, and publish it here once it is created.
